So today I just wanted to go over how to edit your planner printables using Templett. As some of you may know, I have home management planner printables and business planner printables that are customizable available for sale in my Etsy shop HERE. Today, I just wanted to do a quick tutorial on how to edit those printables for the ones who aren’t familiar with the software.
So the great thing about my printables is that they don’t have to be customized. It’s completely up to you. After Etsy has finished processing your payment, you will have immediate access to the download file which has a Dropbox link to download the non-customizable files. If you don’t want to customize the printables, just download those files and print them off. After purchasing, you will also receive an email from Templett.com with an access link. To customize your printables, just click that link and follow the instructions to set up a FREE Templett.com user account. The great part about the software is that it’s all done online. You don’t have to download any software to your computer.

Once you have set up your account and logged in, all of the printables you have purchased will be accessible by finding and clicking the top tab labeled “Templates” on the left-sided toolbar. Just click that and choose which printable section you want to edit first.
There’s a lot that you can customize on Templett.com.
CUSTOMIZABLE
- Text font
- Text color
- Text size
- Text placement
- Addition/deletion of text
NOT CUSTOMIZABLE
- The design elements
- The size of each document
- The orientation of each document
- The tables
PLEASE NOTE: The “Elements” tab will not be available to you. This is only available for seller accounts.
Editing Text

After opening the printable document you want to edit, you’ll be able to click on the text to edit it. At the top, you have the toolbar. Here you can change the font, text size, style, placement, add a shadow, etc.
Using Special Glyph Fonts
You’ll notice that many of my printables use the same title font as the picture above. This font has special characters that can be accessed by clicking the glyph tab (right beside the font drop down). The easiest way to use these special characters is to type out the words completely then select only the letters you want to change (usually just the first or last letter as in the example above). Once you have selected the first letter you want to change, open the glyph tab and scroll to the desired effect. There are a few different options to choose from here. Once you have found what you want to change it to, just click the option in the glyph tab. This will change your regular letter to the special-style letter. Then just repeat for the last letter, etc.

Add/Delete Text
Another great thing is that you can add and delete text. To delete text, just click the text box you want deleted. Make sure the blue box appears around your text, then click the red garbage icon on your top toolbar.

To add text, go to your menu on the left-sided toolbar and select “Text.” Then select either add heading or add paragraph text. This will pop up a text box in the center of your page that you can then move around and edit as you need.
Save Your Template
Once you’ve edited your template, click the “File” tab at the very top on the blue menu. Then select “Save.”

Download Your File
Now that you have saved your file, it’s time to download it! Go back to the top blue menu on the right hand side and click “Download.”

You have a few options for file type. I highly recommend you download it as a PDF document as this is the easiest option for printing purposes. It also ensures that the quality isn’t downgraded.

Once you click PDF, you also have additional options: Show Bleed and Show Trim Marks. ” Show Bleed” is useful if you plan to use a print shop. Ask them if this is required. “Show Trim Marks” is useful if you are printing on paper larger than US Letter. If you are printing on US Letter sized paper at home, you don’t need to use either of these options. Just click the green button labeled “Create PDF.” This will take a few moments.

Once it is ready to be downloaded, a green popup will appear. Click “Download Now.” This will download the file to your computer. Now you are ready to open your documents in Adobe Reader (preferred PDF application and free to download HERE) and print!
That’s all there is to it. The software is very user friendly. Just remember to save as you go! You don’t want to lose all of your hard work! Enjoy guys!
